Project Objectives and Scope
Building on our work in Phase II, this project extends the scope of the Cost & Performance Management database and network to incorporate maintenance, minor works and whole life value.
The project will identify, develop and implement a regional approach to whole life value, working with partner organisations regionally and nationally; will develop the Cost & Performance Database to capture maintenance and minor works information; and will extend the scope of the Performance Improvement Network to facilitate and support good practice in whole life management.
Anticipated gains from the project
Assuming an initial take-up by existing members of the Performance Improvement Network, we anticipate annual savings in excess of £1m per annum (i.e. greater than 1%) from 2008/09 onwards, plus intangible gains in the development of a whole life value approach to design, as recognised in the Comprehensive Performance Assessment.
Wider implications and anticipated gains if it were successfully rolled out
This is already structured as a regional programme with the benefits of consistency and reduced duplication of approach. This programme also informs the work of the national Construction Workstream.
