Project Objectives and Scope
The Institute of Public Care (IPC) will work with two local authorities to help them model and test the commissioning approach designed in the Regional Commissioning Framework Project (PID0037).
IPC will work with the lead commissioners of learning disability services for both pilot sites to plan the best use of the support time to develop two local commissioning strategies that match the regional framework. The learning from the two pilot sites will be consolidated into a commissioning workbook and fed back to all commissioners in the region.
Anticipated gains from the project:
It is problematic to determine if there will be direct cashable or non-cashable efficiency savings achieved during the course of this project.
Wider implications and anticipated gains if it were successfully rolled out:
The two good quality model commissioning strategies, based on the common framework, which will be available to all authorities in the region, is anticipated to be of interest to other authorities.
