Learning Disability Programme
The main objectives of the programme was to seek to develop a shared understanding of the market for adult Learning Disability (LD) services within the region. One of the main areas of activity has been in the development and implementation of a Projects Fair Pricing Tool and Provider & Placement database.

Service Provider Seminars Details of seminars for service providers and wider authority audiences held over the programme to keep the marketplace fully informed of developments in local authority social care transition planning practices and project findings have been distributed to all authorities, known providers and advocacy groups throughout the programme.

Strategic Commissioning Framework and Commissioning Strategy Pilot Authorities Framework offers advice, examples of best practice and guidance, and is intended for commissioners within both local authorities and PCTs. The workbook defines the different levels of commissioning and explores self-directed support and strategic commissioning. An interim commissioning workbook based on project available from the Adult Learning Disability members area.
Pilot authorities are being helped to model and test this commissioning approach.

Mental Health, Sensory Services and Physical Disability Projects
Work has commenced on developing the Fair Pricing Tool to support mental health, sensory services and physical disability commissioning. Details will be made available in the autumn 2007.
