Programme Office Practitioner - Overview

This course is an introduction to the crucial role the programme office can play in any change programme. The course provides an overview of the responsibilities, tools and skills required to deliver this role effectively. The course can lead to the award of a nationally recognised certificate following an assessment exercise.

This 1 day course is only offered on-site to Local Authorities and their partner organisations. Numbers are limited to 12-15 and content tailored to meet the requirements of the council-specific project or programme.

Pre-requisites:

Attendees should be working in a Programme office and/or have attended the MSP 1 day overview.

Learning Outcomes:

Greater understanding of critical contribution of the Programme Offices make to a successful programme.

At the end of the course the attendees will have:

An understanding of the day to day aspects of supporting a programme

An understanding of how the programme lifecycle and how the supporting themes interwork with it

Understand the importance of standards and consistency of tools to the delivery of a programme

Techniques and tools to deliver useful services

Develop a workplace action plan for the programme office

This course is ideal for any staff involved in PMO and related roles and wish to gain a more detailed understanding of how to run a programme.

Programme Managers who have recently been appointed

Staff of a Programme or Project Office

Project and business change managers

Delivery Methodology:

Attendees are encouraged to bring forward relevant situations from their workplace for illustration and discussion.The case study and exercise are relevant to the organisational situation of the attendees who are encouraged to use their own experience to broaden the exercises.The assessment is based on the workplace situation and requires the delegate to apply knowledge and tools from the course to their own situation.

What is the cost?

The course is extensively subsidised at a cost of £50 per delegate, inclusive of all course material.

Lunch and refreshments are included in the delegate price for our public venues.
