Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) Practitioner Course

Managing Successful Programmes is the de facto standard developed by the UK government for delivering change programmes in the UK. It is a way of effectively managing a portfolio of related projects to ensure interdependencies of these projects are managed to achieve visionary objectives.

Managing Successful Programmes is the de facto standard developed by the UK government for delivering change programmes in the UK. This is the 2 day approach to gaining the Practitioner qualification, building on the Foundation qualification.

What is it?

Managing Successful Programmes is the de facto standard developed by the UK government for delivering change programmes in the UK the latest version was released in September 2007.This is the 2 day approach to gaining the Practitioner qualification. It is an intense course that will require delegates to prepare thoroughly and be prepared for evening work. The course includes the Practitioner examination and prepares delegates for the Advanced Practitioner course should they wish to move on to that level.

What are the learning outcomes?

  • Gain an advanced understanding of the concepts within Managing Successful Programmes beyond the Foundation level
  • Understand in detail the stages of the Transformational Flow and the key Roles
  • Understand the concepts and application of the MSP Governance Themes and their relationship to the Transformational Flow
  • Interpret the MSP theory in the context of a case study to demonstrate application
  • Obtain the APMG Practitioner qualification

Who should attend?

This course builds on our MSP Overview and Foundation courses and is targeted at anyone involved in, or responsible for change programmes who wish to become an expert practitioner and gain a qualification including for example:

  • Programme leader
  • Programme office staff
  • Business change managers
  • Operations staff involved in change programmes

Delegates attending the Practitioner course must have passed the Foundation examination with a mark of 60% or more and will need to possess a copy of the Managing Successful Programmes manual issued for the Foundation course. You will need to take the manual and notes from the Foundation course with you on the Practitioner course, noting in particular, Appendix A. If you do not have the notes please see the MSP Foundation section of the website.

What is the cost?

The course is extensively subsidised at an amazing value price of £130 per delegate, inclusive of course material and exam fees, but excluding accommodation.

Lunch and refreshments are included in the delegate price for our public venues.
