Smarter Procurement - existing products and useful resources
- Standard Procurement Templates, Documents and Guidance - A one-stop shop for use by local authorities who are undergoing tendering and contracting procedures.
- Sustainable Procurement - Identifying opportunities for Sustainable Procurement.
- eProcurement Helpline - The SW RIEP e-procurement helpline is available for any staff member from any of the Local Authorities, Police or Fire and Rescue Services in the South West to call the guidance or advice on their e-procurement activities.
- Contract Evaluation Service - Identifying opportunities for collaboration by seeking suitable existing contracts which Councils in the South West can sign up to.
- Regional Spend Analysis - The spend analysis, conducted by Exor Management Services, allows a strategic approach to be taken to procurement, leveraging buying power, eliminating duplicate activity and reducing purchase costs of goods and services.
- Pcards - Streamline the buying process with Pcards. The Pcard lowers the cost of purchasing by producing requisitions, purchase orders, invoices and multiple payments to suppliers.
- eAuctions - SW RIEP has supported a programme of collaborative e-auctions for various commodities. Each auction being lead by an individual local authority with other authorities encouraged to take part to realise increased efficiency savings through collaboration.
- Contract and Opportunities Portal - Several Authorities in the South West have set up their own web-based Contract Management Systems that include Contract Registers, Opportunity Registers, Contract Management Systems. Access them here.
- Contract Databases - The OGC and RCE Contracts Databases as well as the PASA eCatalogues Database detail information on contracts and frameworks open for local authorities to buy into. These are updated periodically highlighting updates and new deals, giving authorities the opportunity to access existing deals rather than going through the full procurement process. Contact details for each framework are provided on the sheet and should be the first point of contact.

- Guidance documents - There are many useful papers and documents produced by other organisations across the many areas of Procurement of which some have been listed and are available to download.
- Procurement Case Studies - A selection of Procurement related case studies have been produced providing local authorities innovative good practice ideas and solutions to a variety of issues within this workstream area.
- Procurement Skills Development - Powerpoint presentations and worksheets from the skills development programme aimed at procurement personnel.
