Customer Focused Transformation Network Conference - How to Achieve Service Transformation through Culture Change - 12th December 2008 Exeter
“The Hard things are Easy; the Soft things are Hard; the Soft things are more important!
Are the “way things get done around here”, the existing assumptions, beliefs or culture hindering your transformation agenda? Don’t miss our next FREE Customer Focused Transformation Network conference which will focus on culture and the role of culture in delivering service transformation.
Come to our conference and listen to the collective voice of experience from within and outside our region, share the lessons learned from successful and not so very successful stories of organisations who tried to address culture as part of their service transformation programmes. Walk away with some great input on “How did they approach it? What were the keys to success? What would they avoid if they had their time again?”
This conferenceis targeted at Members and Officers involved in designing, leading, driving, sponsoring, engaging with or influencing any complex change programme.
Full agenda will be posted soon but will include:
- Plenary sessions covering real-life stories from public, private and third sectors with examples from a diverse range of transformation programmes that show different approaches to culture change.
- Sixty minute workshops that deep-dive into some of the themes raised in the plenary sessions, including the role of leadership, vision and blueprints and examples of case studies that cover current hot topics such as “Systems Thinking”

Joint Waste Authorities – summary of consultation responses
Defra has published a summary of responses to its recent consultation on draft Regulations and draft Guidance for establishing Joint Waste Authorities (JWAs) in England. The option of JWAs was sought by local authorities to help deliver a more efficient and sustainable waste management service and to provide a legal framework for joint waste working arrangements.
In light of comments, Defra will consider expanding some areas of the draft guidance to provide more detail regarding the information that should be included in a proposal for a JWA.
