Paul Clarke

Paul Clarke is a senior manager working for the Improvement and Development Agency, a key partner within SW RIEP. Paul’s main role is to programme manage three of the RIEP programmes: stronger communities, promoting equality and tackling exclusion and building capacity for overall improvement in authorities.

Paul has a broad range of senior management experience within and around local government, having worked for and with local authorities covering districts, unitary and county councils. In addition, he has also worked as an inspector in the Audit Commission.

Paul’s professional background is in human resources and organisational development. He also has significant experience in working with council members with a strong focus in supporting improvement in democratic leadership and political management arrangements. Paul has excellent programme management and project management skills.

Paul currently manages the IDeA’s consultancy team covering the south west region. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, has an MBA, is Myers Briggs qualified and also qualified as a practitioner in both PRINCE2 and Managing Successful Programmes.
