Ann Penwell - Business Support Officer, Improvement

Ann joined SW RIEP in February 2007 as their Business Support Officer.

Ann has gained her experience in project working from both the voluntary sector (where she was project leader for the then government’s ‘Make a Difference’ scheme, inspiring young people aged 14-25 to undertake volunteering activities) and the private sector. Employed for 8 years by a Devon Enterprise Agency, Ann worked on a number of different government-funded initiatives to encourage self-employment and entrepreneurship in the South West.

With a background and keen interest in project working, Ann moved into the arena of local government in 2005, taking employment as Programme Co-ordinator of the successful Devon Improvement Programme (DIP).

Ann has a BA hons degree from Greenwich University and her personal interests include a passion for music and regular fitness training.
