At either end of the spectrum, younger or older people face exclusion, discrimination and disadvantage, which the law has but started to address.
This workshop will provide delegates with:
- Understanding of stereotypes and assumptions about older, younger people
- Knowledge of the law on Age Discrimination and future legislation
- Knowledge of the discrimination and disadvantage faced both by older and younger people
- An understanding of best practice on age issues in employment
- An opportunity to share good practice on age equality.
A summary of what the day will cover:
- Examples of good practice in consulting and engaging older and younger people
- Demographic information on the issues for older and younger people in the south west
- Quiz on the realities of stereotypes on age
- Networking and sharing good practice in challenging ageism
- Contributor from Older Persons forum.
