The South West Provider Forum is open to all current and potential suppliers of Children's Services to the South West. The current focus is on placements (Fostering, Homes and Residential Schools) Members pay a subscription of £75 pa for one attendee (£150pa for two or more) to offset expenses. The objects of the Forum are to explore issues of interest to Providers and Commissioners and to work together on specific topics.
This regional forum should not be confused with the separate Peninsula Providers Conference group which is meeting in November (some Providers of course are members of both).
The meeting will look at the revamped Cross Regional Placement Database, the new National Fostering Contract, recent work on Outcomes and presentations made to the National Commissioning and Contracting Conference.
Additionally Providers are invited to submit ideas for short papers on topics of interest - five minutes presentation and five minutes questions.
These can be on professional topics or on areas of notable practice. Commissioners are interested in subjects such as: educational attainment of looked after children, developing social skills of children with SEN in Special Schools, achieving economic well-being (avoiding NEET!), how to commission for Autism, etc. If you would like to present please contact the information address below."
