Presentation of findings using Outcomes Based Commissioning in Adult Learning Disability Services

The importance of focusing on outcome-based commissioning is high on all our agendas – highlighted by the national policy objectives in Our Health, Our Care, Our Say and the Department of Health's Commissioning Framework for Health and Wellbeing as an integral part of the current "Personalisation" agenda which authorities and providers are focussing on.

In anticipation that future contracts will reflect these developments, with services being defined not by quantity of services delivered but rather on the good that they achieve in meeting the needs of service users, we are delighted to give you the opportunity to hear about a successful piece of work undertaken in the South West as part of the SW Centre of Excellence [SW RIEP] Learning Disability programme.

3 Roadshows are scheduled across the region:

8th October: Rookery Manor, Edingworth Road, Edingworth, Weston Super Mare BS24 0JB

22nd October: Hamworthy Club, Magna Road, Canford Magna, Wimborne, Dorset BH21 3AE

30th October: Tamar Science Park, Davy Road, Derriford, Plymouth, PL6 8BX

Each Roadshow will start at 10.30 and end at 1.00 with a buffet lunch. There is no charge to attend events but for catering purposes we would ask you and your colleagues to register.

Following the success at a recent event of having "market stalls" at lunchtime, where providers and authorities can present their new initiatives, tools and ideas as well as chat to colleagues, you are invited to contact Helen Maunder at h.maunder@dorsetcc.gov.uk if you wish to have a table reserved for your "market stall". Numbers will be limited so please make early contact to reserve a space.

We hope you will be able to attend one of these events where we will demonstrate the tools and also describe our experience in realising the main reasons for developing this innovative approach to support commissioning.
