This conference was an opportunity to find out more about the Dorset-wide ‘Moving On From Hospital Living/Campus Reprovision’ project. This project is supporting people with learning disabilities who are currently living in health accommodation to move to more appropriate community settings to meet their needs.

South West Waste Officer Network Launch Event

The objective of this event was to help officers, elected members and regional stakeholders to understand central government and Audit Commission perspectives of CSR07 and the broader change issues, particularly in the SW. It was an opportunity to shape the LIFT SW improvement and efficiency strategy for local authority support.

The South West Provider Forum is open to all current and potential suppliers of Children's Services to the South West.

This BREW Centre Regional Event has been designed to educate, support and inspire Local Authority Officers to work with their business communities and develop resource management strategies.

Event to showcase work done by COPROP Southwest in conjunction with the South West Centre of Excellence / LIFT SW Partnership

The LIFT SW strategy identified that one of its success measures should be progress against the Use of Resources judgement, with no council scoring less than 2 on the annual Use of Resources judgement by March 2008. There is an improving picture in the South West but still scope for further improvement. For this reason, LIFT SW ran a Use of Resources seminar 11th july 2007. The event was well attended by around 80 south west officers and councillors

The Learning and Skills Council has recently launched a new strategy for learners with learning disabilities and difficulties called ‘Learning for Living and Work’. This conference gave people a chance to hear about how things are changing in the world of Further Education and work.

Update briefing by providers and the project team for Members and Officers

Over 40 local government officers from around the region attended this
CLG/SWCoE seminar to learn about the processes necessary to set up successful shared services. Attendees were also able to hear from colleagues in the South West about how they've shared services or optimised business processes.
